It's Black Cat Day

Did you know that black cats are often overlooked for adoption from animal shelters?

I don't know why as they are rather lovely!
Cats Protection has appointed today Black Cat Awareness Day
http://www.cats.org.uk/black-cats

We have a black cat - Purdy was adopted from the RSPCA when she was a 10 week old kitten & has been a delight ever since. She is 13 now & is still an ace mouser, purrs a lot & loves a bit of cheese to eat!

Of course Pippa wants to know why there isn't a Tortoiseshell Cat Day!

Over In A Flash!

Where does the time go? After months of planning, the V&H Textile & Fashion Fair has already come & gone. Early Saturday morning saw vehicles of all descriptions entering Chipping Sodbury filled to the brim with vintage & handmade delights.

After much greeting & hugging & cups of coffee, everything was decanted & displayed ready for our 10am opening. There was quite a queue growing outside & when the doors opened in they all came - the lucky first one hundred being given a lovely goody bag too. It was busy all day, right up to closing time.

As you can see in the photo above, Michele & I were sporting our best happy smiles but trying to hide behind Michele's table!

There was much to see & buy, friends to meet & cake to eat.

We had two of our magazine friends there too - Pretty Nostalgic......

......and Homes & Antiques.

Everywhere you looked was something unusual, delightful or inspiring.

Thanks to all our stall holders & visitors who made the day such fun!
Homes & Antiques have written a lovely report on their website here

Our next event is the Vintage Jumble in Rangeworthy on the 3rd November & then our fabulous Christmas Fair in December.
Details can be found on our new website here.

I am hoping to be a more regular blogger again but life just seems so hectic....I will have to show you my new 'vintage barn' in my next post!
