Beautiful Visitors

This rather splendid chap was posing on top of our garden wall so we could admire his beauty.

And this is the last thing you expect to see in the pub car park next to the post office!

  1. I love peacocks, their feathers are so beautiful! As for pheasants, living in a semi-rural location, I am constantly trying to avoid running the kamikazi things over - nice to see one behaving itself!

  2. Such posers aren't they ... brains the size of peas though when they decide to walk across the road instead of use their wings and fly .... I read somewhere that they need such a long length for their take off it wears the poor dears out. Lovely peacock too did he strut his stuff and display his feathers.

  4. I did have some beautiful peacock feathers somewhere which I was going to use in a decorative way,but I can't seem to find them now! I dread running over a pheasant on our country lanes.I did once and felt so awful about it for days. :0)

  5. Avoiding pheasants on our country roads
takes skill.....the boy pheasants don't seem to be a savvy as the girls. They start to cross the road then change their minds half way, running back in front of your car! The girls tend to get out of the way and hop over a wall....
    Slightly bigger brain perhaps?

  10. Wow - aren't they marvelous? We used to hear peacocks from a local farm (rather a posh one...) and they sounded like babies cryine - rather disconcering.
