Vintage Style Bunny

On the weekend, while sorting out some stuff in the garage to make space for more stuff, I came across the box containing my stash of bear making supplies from when I used to make bears. I haven't done much bear making in recent years but after opening up the box containing lovely mohair fabric & more, my fingers were itching to stitch so last night I had a go at making a vintage style rabbit while watching TV. Normally I would have used the machine but I sewed him by hand while watching Midsomer Murders...hope that doesn't affect him too much!

He is made from a 'matted' style mohair to give him an aged look with wool felt tummy & glass eyes. He wears a vintage ribbon & bell around his neck (or maybe it should be 'her' as it is pink?)

He/she needs a name now....any suggestions?

  1. Hi Jayne,

As you were watching Midsomer Murders, maybe you should call him - 'Barnaby', not sure what the female version of that would be, or you could change the colour of the ribbon to blue.
Hope you are all well, looking forward to the fair.

  2. He looks great! I agree with Maureen, Barnaby bunny.

  3. I think he looks like a Cornelius, don't know why the name just popped into my head!
    Julie xxxxxxx

  4. I think he looks like Hartley Hare from Pipkins (oh dear, am I giving my age away!)Does anyone remember Pipkins? He/she is gorgeous.
    Jo xx

  5. I was going to say Moe but I love Barnaby better He is sooo cute and you are soooo talented.

  6. I think your bunny looks like a he.... and he is very cute! Perhaps you should call him after Barnaby's dog 'Sykes' as he is so cute too :)
    Abby xx
    ps. I do remember Pipkins!

  7. Awwwww isn't he cute I'd call him "Billy the bunny"!! Lucey x
